Experience has taught me that it’s very important to have something that’s truly your own. That’s exactly why I’ll keep posting here, on my own blog, as often as I can.
I tried doing this on Substack, convincing myself that maybe I could make some money from it. The result? Zero. Nothing. Of course, I know the reasons why I didn’t succeed. So after a few months of that experiment, I decided it’s much better to keep writing here, on my own platform. Here, I’m in control. Here, I decide what and how.
I also realized the importance of owning my own domain years ago, when Google suddenly shut down my old Blogspot blog without giving me any real explanation. After a month of frustration, I finally bought my own domain, found a hosting provider, and started writing again.
Now, I’m also trying to write in English. It helps me expand my vocabulary, improve my skills, and connect with the rest of the world. I don’t yet know exactly what I’ll write about, but just like I managed to grow some sites in my native language, I’m confident this project will also bring me value.
Of course, not material value, it’s hard to monetize when your English is not yet fluent and you don’t have a niche. But one thing is certain: with time, my ability to express myself in English will get much better.
